To use the sharpener effectively, place it on a flat surface, grip the E-Z handle with one hand, and hold the knife handle with the other. Insert the knife blade fully into the slot at a 90-degree angle to the sharpener, then pull back a few times to sharpen the blade. Begin with the carbide side to set the knife's edge, then switch to the ceramic side for a refined finish.

The sharpener operates in two stages: Stage 1 utilizes carbide abrasive wheels for sharpening blunt knives, while Stage 2 employs ceramic slats for fine sharpening.
